Railway Maintenance Tools – Airtec International

Airtec International is a leading global supplier of specialist railway maintenance tools. Trusted by railway crews in more than 40 countries for over 30 years, we provide reliable, high-performance equipment designed to make track operations faster, safer, and more efficient.

Our range includes the world-renowned Master 35® Impact Wrench, precision alignment systems, sockets, auger bits, and clean fuel solutions. Every tool is built to meet the demands of international rail operators, helping crews keep networks running smoothly across the globe.

Master 35® Impact Wrench

The Master 35® has set the standard for railway fastening tools for decades. The latest model features the same proven impact mechanism and gearbox used for over thirty years, now powered by a more advanced engine that complies with EUR5 and EPA3 low emission standards.

With increased power and precision engineering, the Master 35® removes or fits most chairscrews and fishplate nuts in under three seconds. When fitted with the Safety Quick Release Auger Attachment, it can also drill holes in wooden sleepers.

Benefits of the Master 35®:

  • Lower weight
  • Increased power
  • Low vibration
  • Faster operation
  • Lower maintenance costs
  • Improved efficiency
  • Torque range: 500–2,500 Nm (with higher torque possible in special conditions)

Lightweight, well-balanced, and easy to carry, the Master 35® is engineered for productivity while reducing vibration exposure for operators.

Tool Carrier

To further improve safety and efficiency, Airtec offers the Master 35® Tool Carrier. Available in versions for narrow, standard, and broad gauge track, the carrier is designed for use with the Master 35® Impact Wrench and other tools such as the Maxim Pneumatic Rusty Clip Remover.

By combining the impact wrench, accessories, and carrier, vibration is reduced by over 30%. It also minimises manual handling risks, improves operator comfort, and increases productivity.

Key features of the Tool Carrier:

  • Adjustable arm for different tool weights
  • Assembles and dismantles in minutes without tools
  • Can be used vertically or horizontally
  • Lockable main body for safe transport
  • Optional Deadman Handle Braking System

Aspen 2 Fuel

To maximise tool performance, Airtec recommends Aspen 2 alkylate petrol. Specially formulated for two-stroke engines, Aspen 2 is cleaner, safer, and reduces long-term costs.

Advantages of Aspen 2 Fuel:

  • Up to 30% lower maintenance costs
  • Virtually zero harmful substances such as benzene and aromatic hydrocarbons
  • Can be stored in machines without deteriorating
  • Odourless and safer for operators
  • Reduces exposure to harmful emissions
  • Up to 99% cleaner compared with regular petrol
  • Mixed at 50:1 with biodegradable two-stroke oil (up to 60% renewable content)

By protecting operators and equipment, Aspen 2 extends the life of tools and ensures consistent performance in the field.

No Go Gauge

Airtec also supplies the Master 35® Anvil and Socket No Go Gauge, designed to help fitters and operators identify when worn parts need replacing.

Using damaged sockets or anvils increases vibration, causes unnecessary tool wear, and slows down operations. The No Go Gauge quickly identifies whether a socket or anvil should be replaced, helping to maintain efficiency and reduce risks.

Manufactured from hardened aluminium for long life, the gauge can be attached to a belt or keyring for convenience. It is suitable for all 1” square drive impact wrenches and sockets, including other brands.

Lase Align MKII

The Maxim Lase Align MKII is a precision laser alignment kit supplied globally by Airtec. It allows fast, accurate rail switch alignment without the need for tape measurements or manual calculations.

Applications include:

  • Switch tip alignment with twin laser heads for accuracy
  • Drill hole positioning with precise laser indication
  • Adjustment of switches in seconds
  • Rail dip measurement between datum points, including night use

With targets supplied for multiple rail sizes, the Lase Align MKII improves speed, accuracy, and consistency in track alignment tasks.

Impact Sockets and Auger Bits

Airtec manufactures and supplies over 150 different railway sockets, available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and square drives. These are compatible with all major impact wrenches and track screwing machines, including Geismar, Robel, Stumec, and Maxim.

We also supply Graff Shank Auger Bits in single and double flute designs, with countersunk cutter options, suitable for both wooden and composite sleepers. These tools ensure crews have the correct fittings and accessories to meet diverse track requirements worldwide.

Airtec International has supplied railway maintenance tools to crews worldwide for more than 30 years. From the Master 35® Impact Wrench and Tool Carrier to the Lase Align MKII, Aspen 2 fuel, sockets, and auger bits, our portfolio provides the solutions required to keep railways operating safely and efficiently.

Trusted in over 40 countries, Airtec remains a global partner for railway maintenance, combining engineering expertise with proven reliability.
